Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum is a gourmand masterpiece, that can either be worn as a comfort fragrance or for an elegant event. It is opulent, elegant, round and thick.
This fragrance recreates the actual thickness of Rahat Loukhoum/Rahat Lokum or as many know it Turkish Delight but the authentic Rahat Loukhoum that contains rosewater.
If you ever get the chance to try Rahat Lokum that follows the rosewater recipe do it without thinking twice. It has a special sweet floral goodness to it, it is not just dessert, a whole olfactory experience and a delight to the taste buds. The subtle floral aroma slowly builds up and the rose reveals itself in the end, without being overpowering.
Rahat Lokum with rosewater
Loukhoum resembles closely Rahat Lokum, in the beginning, a powdery rose claims the spotlight. A sweet rose with a considerable amount of powder, exactly like Rahat Lokum with its rosewater and sprinkled dusty sugar on top.

Then it morphs into a Rahat Lokum with sweet almonds in its composition. I am not a big fan of almonds in general so at first, I was a little overwhelmed and sweetly intoxicated, in a positive way as the almonds mellow but remain beautifully elegant. Once the almond note settles down, the fragrance smells cosy, comfortable with an opulent elegance in the same time. Loukhoum has achieved the perfect balance between cosy and elegant.
To my nose, it smells like the fragrance one wears at an elegant Christmas party, as it is perfect for a cold weather, hugging the person wearing it and becoming a second skin. As a side note: Yes, I am thinking of those posh British Christmas parties that take place in a huge old mansion and everybody is dressed fancily for the occasion. The beautiful voice of Leontyne Price fills the room with elegance and Christmas spirit.

Loukhoum remains warm, linear, very elegant until the long end, the almond accompanying the woodsy base notes with a magnificent persistence and sillage. Keiko Mecheri's Loukhoum is a perfectly adapted well known Turkish delicacy in a bottle. Rahat Loukhoum in a bottle, as the name not just, suggests but very closely emulates.

In the end, I would like to add a small advice to my Dear Reader. Perfume is like a work of art, it strikes different chords within each individual. The interpretation of a work of art is very personal, profound and unique for each and every human being. If possible, test a perfume for yourself after reading a review. Also, do not forget to Love, Enjoy and Wear your Perfume of choice Proudly.
