Thierry Mugler Angel Sunessence Bleu Lagon - Scented Review

Angel on a Holiday! Angel Sunessence Edition Bleu Lagon smells like a Holiday and it’s very wearable in Summer. In the middle of Winter can help one escape the cold, the snow, the unpleasant weather and soothe the longing for a warm and exotic summery destination.

Name: Angel Sunessence Edition Bleu Lagon
Brand: Thierry Mugler
Concentration: Eau de Toilette Legere
Year of launching: 2010
Production: Limited Edition
Parfumeur: Aurélien Guichard
Persistence: Excellent
Sillage: Excellent
Notes: Carambola (Star Fruit), Ginger Blossom, Patchouli, Vanilla. *The perfume notes have been written as described on Basenotes.

I must applaud the decision to use Carambola/Star Fruit for this fragrance. It was a creative choice because the Star Fruit does the trick in keeping this fragrance balanced and not too sweet. Some sweetness is present because it is an Angel flanker after all. Carambola is not a sweet fruit, even when it’s ripe it’s still sour. But this was exactly the ingredient that was necessary to make Angel Bleu Lagon a good candidate for Summer.

The building notes/blocks for this fragrance are the Carambola and the Patchouli. These two notes compliment and balance each other. The Carambola Note tames the Patchouli and the Patchouli cuts through the sourness. Angel Bleu Lagon has a fruity fresh undertone that is well blended into the composition. Vanilla and Patchouli are present in the base notes to remind us of the original Angel.

Let's talk about the packaging:

Angel Blue Lagon has the classic star-shaped bottle but it resembles seawater colour with blue and greenish hues. A nice touch is the bottle’s cap that resembles sea foam or small water drops, depending on one’s interpretation. Because Angel Sunessence Edition Bleu Lagon has in its composition an exotic fruit so one might say it is leaning towards the exotic stereotype. While that is true, Aurélien Guichard chose a sour exotic note in spite of all other exotic fruity notes and that was a smart move. Personally, I use Angel Sunessence Bleu Lagon even in winter when I want to escape to an exotic location.

In the end, I would like to add a small advice to my Dear Reader. Perfume is like a work of art, it strikes different chords within each individual. The interpretation of a work of art is very personal, profound and unique for each and every human being. If possible, test a perfume for yourself after reading a review. Also, do not forget to Love, Enjoy and Wear your Perfume of choice Proudly.
